here: we have prepared you during several meditations for the work you will do
in Belgium, Spain and Morocco.
Morocco has been for
nearly 1,000 years a huge empire stretching from Niger until Spain. Marrakech
has been the cultural and economic centre throughout the Arab world and West
Africa for hundreds of years.
The original population
was composed of Berbers from the orange, green,
indigo and Andite race. There was indeed a large population with pale
skin and light eye colors who settled in the mountains in a distant past before
Christ.
They are mainly farmers, herders
and nomads. They were converted to Islam by a spiritual leader in the 7th century
A.D. It was a highly spiritual and moderate Islam, with a different accent than
the Islam of the Arab countries and the Middle East.
There are still very holy
places in the Sahara, South of Morocco dating back to the 6th century AD.
Unfortunately all towns and villages of the Berbers who lived in the Sahara in
distant times are now buried in the sand due to winds and storms. They lost
many of their ancient culture but still take care of the little that remains of
their holy places.
The people of Morocco is
very blended following successive waves of races, cultures, religions and
influences from every horizon of which Islam and Arabism are just one
component, but essential and important.
We will guide you to holy
places in Morocco of more than 15,000 years old and others dating from the 6th
to the 12th century AD.
Some places are buried and
you cannot recognize them. That is why you have to make regular meditations, just
like in Turkey, to be guided and study the map. It is a good idea to start your
tour of Morocco from Casablanca and the rest of your itinerary will be given
later in Spain.
